Nearly two and a half million rupees has been spent on the dinner of the Ceylon Industrial Development Board’s year end special board meeting.
The meeting was held on December 28 last year at an inn at Fernando Gardens, Senanayake Mawatha, Dehiwala. These facts were revealed by the information provided by the Ceylon Industrial Development Board in an application filed under the Freedom of Information Act. The Board consists of seven members, including the Chairman.
According to the Industrial Development Board, 49 members of the Board, including the Board of Directors, attended the meeting. According to the request, a bill issued by Gihans Beach Rest House has been submitted to the author stating that the price of one meal is Rs. 5000.00.
A service charge of Rs. 22,500 has also been added and Rs. 247,000 has been spent on dinner for 45 of the 49 participants. However, the meal menu is not included.
