Wild elephant problem continues ravaging Hambantota

 A person lost his life, once again due to the wild elephant issue. The deceased, a 25 year old father of one, a resident of Walsapugala Hambanthota, died while being transported to the Hambanthota hospital.

According to our correspondent the victim had been traveling on a motorbike with his wife and child around 10pm last night.

Meanwhile, residents of the village had been chasing away a wild elephant that encroached their village. Residents of Walsapugala point out that elephant encroachments on the village have increased owing to mass deforestation.
