Update on new colour-coded sticker system

The sticker system introduced by the Police for vehicles entering Colombo will be continued today(3rd of June) as well.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said a new sticker with a different colour will be issued today, which will be valid only for the day.

He said the Police were able to identify the shortcomings of the system that was introduced yesterday, with it being rectified and implemented today.

A colour-coded system will be followed with a different colour being issued each day during the islandwide travel restriction which has been extended till the 14th of June.

The Police Spokesman said roadblocks have been set up at 52 points in the vicinity and suburbs of Colombo where vehicles entering the city will be inspected and provided a sticker.

The public have been requested to cooperate with Police officials at the roadblocks.

DIG Ajith Rohana further said that all public transportation has been prohibited during the islandwide travel restriction. He added that taxi services have also been prohibited from operation during this period, media reported.
