Three rocket attacks on an airport in Iraq

One person has been killed and five others injured in a series of rocket attacks on the Erbil International Airport in Iraq’s Kurdistan province, foreign media reported.

Kurdistan officials say the bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. military base.

This area functions as a semi-autonomous area. International correspondents there said they had been able to monitor the blaze after the rocket attack.

After the attack, the airport authorities temporarily stopped the arrival of the planes. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
