The Sri Lankan government will issue Treasury bills for 51 billion rupees through an auction on 02nd June 2021, the Central Bank announced.
The T-bills will be offered in 3 maturities – Rs 8 billion of 91 days, Rs. 23 billion of 182 days and Rs. 20 billion of 364 days. The minimum amount of a bid is Rs. 5 million and multiples of Rs. 1 million onwards. The issues will be settled on 20th September 2019.
Bids are invited from the Primary Dealers in Government Securities and should be made only through the electronic bidding facility provided by the Central Bank.
The Central Bank may accept higher or lower amount than the offered amount at the auction depending on the market conditions, but without exceeding the total amount on offer.
