Protest against microfinance loans continues

A protest march was staged in Hingurakgoda yesterday against the microfinance loan system.

The protest was carried out to call on the Government to fulfill the demands of women severely affected due to the loan system.

The women have likened the microfinance institutions to blood sucking vampires, claiming that many lives have been lost due to women being unable to repay the loans.

The protest continued for the 30th consecutive day yesterday (06th of April).
