Out of 45 schools 42 schools in Kandy open on Monday

A total of 42 schools within the Kandy City limits, except for three which are currently closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be reopened tomorrow (14th of Dec).

The decision was taken following a discussion held on Last Friday (11th of Dec) at the Governor office, on the prevailing COVID-19 situation in Kandy.

Central Province Governor Lalith Gamage said the Zonal Education Director will inform the Heads of Schools accordingly. However, three schools; namely Thakshila Vidyalaya, Trinity College and Kalaimagal Tamil Maha Vidyalayam will remain closed.
