Kohuwela burnt car : 9 statements recorded, Police give update

Samples have been collected to conduct a DNA test to ascertain the identity of the charred remains that was found inside a burnt car in Kohuwala on Wednesday night.

The Police said the samples were collected today to confirm if the remains belong to the 33-year-old businessman from Kohuwala, who is suspected to be the victim.

Meanwhile, further samples have also been collected to conduct a PCR test.

The Police said the post mortem examination will be conducted after they receive the results of the DNA and PCR tests.

The post mortem examination is to be conducted at the Colombo South Teaching Hospital in Kalubowila.

Statements have been recorded from 09 people over the incident, while two special Police teams have been appointed to conduct investigations.
