Today marks the 33rd anniversary of the assassination of Vijaya Kumaratunga, one of the most popular actors and politicians in Sinhala cinema.
Vijaya Kumaratunga, who played the lead role in the film ‘Hanthana Kathawa’ directed by Sugathapala Senarath Yapa, has played the lead roles in about 114 films.
A celebration was held today near the Vijayakumaratunga Samadhi at the 18th post in Katunayake. Former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, former Ministers Jeevan Kumaratunga and Felix Perera.
