Begun to investigate the chinese language boards displaying in Mount Lavinia.

The Railway Department is to start an investigation into a notice board which indicates the train time tables placed at the Mount Lavinia railway station which is in mandarin (Chinese) and English.

Sri Lanka Railways General Manager Dilantha Fernando said Colombo Gazette that he had seen an image of the notice board being circulated on social media. As well as he added that, the notice board had been installed before he became General Manager. Therefore he has started an investigation to collect details on who was responsible for the installation of the board. since the boards are against the language policy of the country

Furthermore, he stated that, he will be taken steps to remove the boards containing Chinese characters and will be replaced the boards with contain schedule in Sinhala, Tamil and English.
