A Sri Lankan athlete who swam from Sri Lanka to India has set a new record

Indian athlete Shyamala Goli has set a new record by swimming across the Palk Strait from Talaimannar to Danushkodi in South India in 13 hours. She had swum continuously for 13 hours and 40 minutes between 4.10 am on the 19th and 5:50 pm on the 19th.

A Neth News reporter said she was the woman who swam across the Poke Strait in the shortest amount of timeShyamala Goli, who also holds many Indian swimming records, represents the Telangana region. The 48-year-old said she decided to swim across the Palk Strait to show off her strength and femininity.

Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa also took to his Twitter account to congratulate Shyamala Goli on his performance.Navaratnam, a resident of Valvettithurai, Jaffna in 1954, Migirsen, a resident of Calcutta, India in 1966 and Kumar Anand, a resident of Valvettithurai, Jaffna in 1971 had crossed the Palk Strait.
